HOW IT WORKS

CinemaCC turns your iPhone into a quiet personal subtitle screen for the movie theater. Find subtitles in the app or import one or two SRT files, tap Start at the first frame, and your subtitles scroll in sync with the film on a theater-dark display.

  1. Find subtitles online or import one or two SRT files before the movie
  2. Dim your screen and tap Start when the first frame appears
  3. Glance down to read one or two subtitle languages in sync with the film

Get back in sync

Use the floating transport buttons to move subtitles back or forward.

Tap the waveform to hear a line and jump to your place — all on device.

Find My Place needs the dialogue subtitles to be an English or French SRT. You can still play any two subtitle languages manually.

SRT

Wide subtitle file-encoding support, so downloads from anywhere just work

.srt · UTF-8 · UTF-16

Apple Watch

Sync once at your seat, then follow every line from your wrist. Your iPhone can stay in your pocket.

Subtitle content or rights concern

In the native app, open Settings > Support & Legal > Subtitle issue and choose the downloaded result. CinemaCC will prepare an email with its OpenSubtitles file ID and release details; review the draft, describe the concern, and send it. You can also email haiyimei@gmail.com with the work title, OpenSubtitles file ID or enough detail to identify the result, relevant territory, and your authority to act. CinemaCC can review how the result appears in the app and forward a provider-hosted-file request to OpenSubtitles; CinemaCC cannot delete a file hosted by OpenSubtitles.
